The aim of our study of Religious Education at HCK is to offer students the opportunity to become missionary disciples and deepen their understanding of the richness of our Catholic beliefs, practices and values through the lens of our school motto, ‘Victory through the Cross.’
The K-12 Syllabus Framework has been established to ensure that students are provided with educational opportunities that (amongst others):
- “Prepare all students for effective and responsible participation in wider society, as active members of the Catholic Church
- Assist them in recognising and appreciating experiences of Catholic Discipleship
- Promote the message of the Gospel as part of the realisation of the Kingdom of God
- Engage and challenge all students to maximise their individual talents and capabilities for lifelong learning
- Enable all students to develop positive self-concepts and their capacity to establish and maintain safe, healthy and rewarding lives.” (K-12 Religious Education Curriculum, p. 23)
